N. Nazarbayev to participate in UN Nuclear Security Summit in New York

Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Centre Miroslav Jenca made it public today upon the completion of the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazykhanov.

As M. Jenca noted, during the meeting the sides discussed the issues of nuclear disarmament and the role of Kazakhstan and leadership of the President of Kazakhstan in this sphere was highly appraised.

'The UN Nuclear Security Summit in New York is a very important event, it will be chaired by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. The President of Kazakhstan will participate in this event,' the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General said.

Mr. Janca also noted that Kazakhstan actively cooperated with the UN including implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
