N. Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan to make every effort to create nuclear-weapon-free world
ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstan will exert every effort to make the dream of nuclear-free world true. President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said it following the meeting with Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon in Akorda today.
"We welcome signing the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty between the USA and Russia scheduled for tomorrow in Prague. Two largest nuclear empires are demonstrating firm political will for reduction of their nuclear arsenals, for ensuring global nuclear security. This encourages us to believe in possibility of the future without nuclear weapons", N. Nazarbayev said.
As the Head of the State noted the meeting had focused on several important issues regarding the process of nuclear disarmament.
