N. Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan has necessary provisions to overcome difficult trends

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Akorda has held a meeting on socio-economic development of the country chaired by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

According to the press service of the President, the meeting considered the situation in the economy and the financial sectors of the country in view of the state of affairs on the regional and global markets. The President noted that the current negative trends in the global economy are the consequence of the global financial and economic crisis of 2007-2009. Nursultan Nazarbayev reminded that at the end of last year, the Government was requested to develop different scenarios to prevent the economic slowdown and to preserve the basic social benefits. The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that Nurly Zhol program is aimed at providing infrastructure development and creation of new jobs. At the same time 75 objects, which will create 7,500 new jobs, will be implemented under the program of industrial-innovative development. Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that Kazakhstan has all the necessary provisions which will allow overcoming the difficult trends. "Despite all the difficulties, we finished 2014 with an economic growth of 4.3 percent. We should check on the situation in Russia and Europe. Lower incomes, increased social tensions in neighboring countries may affect us. We must not allow this. The main results of the year will be summarized at the enlarged session of the Government," he said.
