N. Nazarbayev awarded «Dostyk» order to J. Barrozo for contribution to strengthening of peace and friendship between nations

The Head of State thanked J. Barrozo for his contribution to strengthening of relations between Kazakhstan and European Union, the press service of the Akorda informs.

"During your tenure as a head of the European Commission the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the EU increased ten times. With your assistance and support we signed the document on completion of the talks on the draft agreement on extended partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU. The European Union remains to be our main trade partner," the President of Kazakhstan said.

In turn, J. Barrozo thanked N. Nazarbayev for the praise of his work and expressed his hope for further deepening of the partnership of Kazakhstan and the EU.

"As a head of the European Commission I exerted every in order to support the cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU and I am really proud of the contribution I managed to make. Your personal participation was also very important in that matter," he noted.

At the meeting, the Head of State also awarded "Dostyk" order to J. Barrozo for his contribution to peace, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
