"The mummified body of the man, born in 1930, was discovered in the apartment," the source said.

An investigation is ongoing.

This is not the first such discovery in Moscow. In late January, police in southeast Moscow found a body of a woman five years after her death.

In May-June, three other mummified bodies of elderly men who died in their apartments were found in Moscow.

In September 2009, a mummified body of a newborn baby, wrapped in an almost 40-year-old newspaper, was found under the floorboards of an apartment in the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg. Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru
