Mother of five gives birth to a giant boy in Shymkent

A giant baby weighing 6 kilograms 500 grams was born in the Municipal Hospital No2 in Kazakhstan’s southern city Shymkent, Kazinform News Agency reports.

31-year-old mother of five, Almira Zhandarbekova, delivered her sixth child naturally, without operative treatment.

Doctors say both the newborn and his mother feel well.

“The woman applied to the maternity unit of the Shymkent-based Municipal Hospital No 2 on October 3. Next day, at 01:50 pm, she gave birth to a baby weighing 6 kilograms 500 grams,” doctors said.

The boy was named as Tauekel, which means "venturesome," "daring," and "courageous" in Kazakh. The length of the newborn is 63 centimeters.
