Moscow hosts conference on investment and export potential of Kazakhstan's regions

MOSCOW. October 30. KAZINFORM - Moscow is hosting the international conference on "Investment and export potential of Almaty and Zhambyl oblasts of Kazakhstan".

The event is being attended by representatives of regional and international organizations, the business community in Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as experts dealing with the development of bilateral trade relations.

Opening the conference Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia Galim Orazbakov noted the importance of inter-regional cooperation between the two countries. Special impetus is given by the annual meetings of the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin at the forums interregional cooperation.

"We want the regions of Kazakhstan to work not only with the border areas, but also on our entrepreneurs to come to the central part of Russia, and the capital of the country", said the head of the diplomatic mission.

He noted that at present the trade turnover in areas of Kazakhstan and Russia is about $ 25 billion, but there is much potential for expansion.

"Our task is to increase trade between the two countries several times", said the Ambassador. "I think our Kazakh business would be able to take an active part in investment projects in the Moscow region".

During the conference the Russian side will be presented to the investment and export potential of Almaty and Zhambyl oblasts of Kazakhstan, there will be a detailed exchange of views between officials and businesspeople of the two countries. It is planned to consolidate the mutual interest with signing memoranda of collaboration.
