More than 600 candidates vying for governor seats in Karaganda region

KARAGANDA. August 8. KAZINFORM Gubernatorial (akims) elections have kicked off at 16 polling stations in Karaganda region this morning.
The regional election committee says the total number of registered candidates is 601. In average, three candidates are vying for one governor seat. 31% of gubernatorial candidates are women.
The local akims are elected for a term of four years.
