More than 300 people drowned in waters of Kazakhstan
ASTANA. August 8. KAZINFORM For 7 months of this year, 1078 people were drowning in the waters around the country, including 259 children. This has been reported today by the Deputy Director of Emergency Response Department, Chief of emergency forces and means under the Emergency Ministry Alexei Sovietov during the briefing.
According to him, this figure is 28% less than the same period last year.
The staff of the water-saving services of Emergency Ministry rescued 777 people in total (including 209 children) and 301 people drowned (including 50 children), which is 25% less than the same period of the previous year.
In this case, as reported by A. Sovietov, the largest number of people drowned are in the waters of Almaty (6 persons), Mangystau (6 persons) and Pavlodar (9 people) regions.
The main causes of death, according to rescuers, violation of the rules of water safety and swimming in unorganized areas - 158 cases, bathing in state of intoxication - 93, and children swimming in the pools without adult supervision - 50 cases.
