More than 1000 to gather for Ministerial Conference "Environment for Europe" in Astana

ASTANA. July 14. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ More than a thousand delegates from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and Economic (ECE) and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will attend the 7-th Ministerial Conference "Environment for Europe" on September 21-23 in Astana. Representative of the Kazakh Ministry for Environmental Protection Alexander Bragin told a board meeting on Thursday.

"In addition to representatives of European and North American countries - the traditional participants in these conferences, we invited representatives of Asian states - Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Mongolia, and others. Laureates of international awards, academic and political leaders will take part in the conference as moderators," Bragin noted.

He reminded that Kazakhstan will present the Astana initiative "Green Bridge", which provides support for the transition from today's traditional and unsustainable development models to "green economy" on the basis of multilateral cooperation and public-private partnership.
