Mongolia sees decline in births and deaths in 2025

Births across the country dropped significantly in 2025, falling by 5.7 percent compared to the previous year, with a total of 56,200 babies born, Qazinform News Agency cites Montsame.
Data from the National Statistics Office shows that in 2024, the total fertility rate (TFR), which represents the average number of children a woman is expected to have during her lifetime, was 2.4.
At the same time, the number of deaths also declined. In 2025, there were 19,100 recorded deaths nationwide, reflecting a 2.1 percent decrease from the year before. The crude death rate stood at 5.4 deaths per 1,000 people.
