Moderate quake hits Vanuatu: USGS

HONG KONG. August 12. KAZINFORM An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Vanuatu at 0856 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The epicenter, with the depth of 35 km, was initially determined to be 17.504 degrees south latitude and 167.588 degrees east longitude. It was about 80 km west northwest of the Vanuatu capital Port Vila. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
