Minsk to host CIS Council of Permanent Representatives 13 November

MINSK. November 12. KAZINFORM A meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Representatives will take place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 13 November, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting will focus on the preparation and organization of the meetings of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council and the CIS Heads of State Council in Ashgabat on 4-5 December.

The agenda of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting will comprise 12 issues related to various areas of cooperation in the CIS, BelTA reports.

The CIS Heads of State will consider 18 issues. Among them will be preparations for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the activity of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in strengthening integration cooperation in the Commonwealth, an interstate program Commonwealth Capitals of Culture. The summit will also consider the issue of announcing the Year 2013 as the Year of Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection in the CIS as well as the promising areas of developing the joint air defense system.

The CIS Heads of State Council will discuss draft agreements on cooperation in the organization of the integrated currency market, training of counterterrorist experts, development of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units.

Partaking in the meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Representatives will be Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive secretary Sergei Lebedev.
