Ministry of Education and Science develops educational programs for disabled children
ASTANA. July 15. KAZINFORM /Anna Sizova/ Issues regarding creation of equal opportunities for life and integration into society of the disabled persons have been discussed at a regular sitting of the Coordination Council in social protection of the abovementioned group of population.
According to Vice minister of Education and Science Kulyash Shamshidinova, the problem of studying of the disabled children at schools, colleges and universities is one of the most urgent issues for all regions of Kazakhstan.
The situation with the pre-school disabled children is alarming, she said. To date Kazakhstan has few specialized groups in pre-school organizations. Thus, only 105 children are visiting pre-school educational organizations in the West Kazakhstan oblast.
The Ministry of Education and Science develops special educational programs for the solution of the problem. The programs will allow the disabled children to get education equally with their coevals. However, in the Vice Minister's opinion, local authorities should provide necessary material-technical base for this.
