Mild quake hitting Laos felt in Thailand

BANGKOK. February 24. KAZINFORM Thai people in some northern and northeastern provinces felt tremor as a 4.7 magnitude quake struck Saiyaburi province of Laos late Wednesday night, local media reported. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

There were no reports of injuries or damage but residents in northern Nan and Phrae provinces as well as northeastern Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Nong Buo Lampu, Khon Kaen and Loei provinces in Thailand could feel the quake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 55 kilometers from Nan's Mae Rim district of Thailand.

In Loei province, patients and others fled a hospital buildings after it was rocked by quake for about 5 seconds. Besides, people living around Num-man dam were urgently evacuated as the earthquake alarm went off. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
