Meeting of the SCO Council of heads of governments kicks off in Astana
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Meeting of the SCO Council of heads of governments has kicked off in Astana.
The event has being attended by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov, Russia - Dmitry Medvedev, Kyrgyzstan - Djoomart Otorbaev, Tajikistan - Kokhir Rasulzoda, First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan - Rustam Azimov and Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang.
At the moment, the heads of governments are holding a meeting in a narrow format.
NOTE: SCO is a regional international organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The SCO is primarily centered on its member nations' Central Asian security-related concerns, often describing the main threats it confronts as being terrorism, separatism and extremism.
