Meeting of CIS Council of Heads of States in Ashgabat rescheduled for 5 December
MINSK. October 31. KAZINFORM The next meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of State will be held in Ashgabat on 5 December, the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said after a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on 30 October, informs the website of the CIS Executive Committee.
Previously, the meeting was scheduled for 2 November. "I want to emphasize that the CIS Executive Committee keeps in close contact with the leadership of all the CIS countries, discusses the upcoming forums, in particular, the meetings of the CIS Council of the Heads of State and the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. Following all meetings and discussions the CIS Executive Committee suggested more thorough work on the documents to be discussed at the upcoming forums, and shift some of the forums to later dates," Sergei Lebedev said.
He noted that "the President of Turkmenistan also supported the proposal to hold the next meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of States in Ashgabat on 5 December, BelTA reports.
On 4 December Ashgabat will host a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. "Today we together with all agencies of Turkmenistan are preparing up for these two forums. I believe they will be successful," Sergei Lebedev stressed.
