Medvedev says alcoholism/drug addiction cannot be stopped by bans

BARVIKHA. July 5. KAZINFORM President Dmitry Medvedev said alcoholism and drug addiction should be fought not by bans but by comprehensive measures, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"The problem cannot be solved with the help of foolish bans. We have already tried that," Medvedev said during a teleconference with the Seleger-2009 youth forum participants on Saturday.
"It can be solved only by a set of measures," he added.
