Medvedev nominates Minnikhanov as new president of Tatarstan

Earlier, Medvedev agreed with the list of candidates for the post of Tatarstan president suggested by the United Russia party. The list included Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and, Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, and incumbent President Mintimer Shaimiyev.
