May 1 likely to become Holiday of Demonstration of Kazakhstan Ethnicities Friendship - President
ASTANA. October 20. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan needs to continue writing the history of formation of its poly-ethnic society, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has said it in the course of the 16th session of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan.
"To my mind, the 1st of May which is the Unity Day of Kazakhstan People should be renamed as the Holiday of Mass Demonstration of Friendship of Kazakhstan Ethnicities", the President noted.
In this view, N. Nazarbayev gave several instructions. Thus, the Assembly and the Ministry of Education and Science were charged to develop and approve special programs on the history of inter-ethnic relations in Kazakhstan and implement it in all educational institutions - from kindergartens to universities. Secondly, the Assembly and the Ministry of Culture were charged to launch a series of films about tolerance and consent in the Kazakh society for the youth .
"Under the aegis of the Assembly of Kazakhstan People a festival of national theaters must be organized. TV stations of Kazakhstan must launch a series of programs about the representatives of various ethnic groups living in our country, their contribution to formation of modern Kazakhstan", M. Nazarbayev resumed.
