Maternal mortality decreased threefold- Kazakh Minister of Healthcare

ASTANA. February 18. KAZINFORM "Over the last three years a maternal mortality has decreased more than threefold," Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Salidat Kairbekova said at the government's hour at the Majilis.
"The timely adoption of a package of measures in the framework of the" Kazakhstan Salamatty" program allowed to increase life expectancy by 0.59 years in just one year, while the state program envisages reaching 70 years by 2015," S. Kairbekova noted.
According to Ms. Kairbekova, the maternal mortality rate has decreased threefold over the last three years and infant mortality - by 25 percent. Mortality from circulatory diseases fell by 20 percent.
