Massimov: Kazakhstan actively promoting technology for improving energy efficiency of economy
TANA. October 4. KAZINFORM Speaking at the VI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY on Tuesday in Astana Kazakh Premier Karim Massimov touched on the theme of climate change.
"Population and economic growth will test the ability of the energy industry to provide new and affordable supplies of energy. This is the time when climate change is a growing threat. Without a doubt, the challenges of energy security and environmental sustainability will change the energy landscape. These challenges require global solidarity to overcome them," Massimov said.
According to him, Kazakhstan seeks to find common solutions to these problems. It is about Kazakhstan's readiness to promote environmentally sustainable growth and development. The country is actively promoting the technology for improving energy efficiency of the economy. In August, the Government approved the Law "On energy saving and energy efficiency", which aims at reducing energy consumption of industry by 10% by 2015 and by 25% by the end of the decade.
