Massimov holds sitting on single economic space establishment

ANA. February 3. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Government proceeded to development of the legal basis of the single economic space for 2010-2011 in order of execution of President Nursultan Nazarbayev's instructions on ensuring higher level of integration and free movement of capital and labor power, which was set in the Message "New Decade - New Economic Growth - New Opportunities of Kazakhstan".

In this connection Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held a sitting on the single economic space formation on February 2; the Government's press service reports.

In the course of the meeting in Almaty at the end of December, 2009 heads of the Customs Union member states - Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus - made a statement on the single economic space formation till January 1, 2012.

Taking into account the fact, that the single economic space means a free movement of goods, services, labor power and capital, the Premier noted new prospects for the three countries' economies, in particular investment attractiveness increase in connection with consumption market expansion to 170 mln people and formation of single principles and rules of the economic policy of the three countries.

There were studied 20 agreements, which include all main elements of the single economic space and are directed to holding a coherent economic policy, including single principles of competitive policy, natural monopolies regulation and state support of industry and agriculture development.

Within the framework of the single economic space it is foreseen free movement of capital, services and labor power. Besides, the agreements of the single economic space are appealed for ensuring provision of nondiscriminatory access to infrastructure of the Single Economic Space member states.

Following the results of the sitting the Prime Minister gave a number of instructions to heads of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Agency for Natural Monopolies Regulation.
