Mangystau rgn gears up for Kazakhstan-Russia cross-border coop forum
AKTAU. January 24. KAZINFORM Governor of the Mangystau region Alik Aidarbayev has announced early results of the development of regional economy.
"The State-of-the-Nation Address says that extractive industries are the competitive advantage of our country. The Head of State urges to use new approaches in fossil fuels management, extraction and processing. As one of the leaders of domestic oil&gas sector, the Mangystau region has everything in place for its further development, especially taking into account development prospects of the Caspian region," Mr. Aidarbayev said.
According to him, 25% or 2.6 billion tons of Kazakhstan's oil reserves fall to the share of the Mangystau region.
He also added the use of innovative technologies in the oil&gas sector will be eyed in Atyrau in the second half of 2014 during the regular forum of cross-border cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia with the participation of presidents Nazarbayev and Putin.
