Malaysian Tourism Minister visited Almaty

ALMATY. October 3. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Malaysian Minister of Tourism Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen arrived in Almaty Friday. She informed on the touristic opportunities of her country at the special conference.

She complimented the high level of the Kazakh-Malaysian cooperation and reminded that her country was one of the first who recognized the independence of Kazakhstan and established diplomatic contacts with it.

According to the Minister, about 5 mln of Kazakhstanis traveled aboard in 2008 and only about 5 thousand of them visited Malaysia. Stressing that the figure is too small the foreign guest informed on the political system, national structure, religions, climate of Malaysia.

She also informed on the measures for the further development of the tourism sector of the country, in particular, introduction and spread of so called medical tourism, shop-tourism and extension of the Duty Free system.
