Majilis to study bill "On ratification of Strategic Partnership Agreement between Kazakhstan and France"
ASTANA. February 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Committee for Foreign Affairs, defense and Security of the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) discussed a draft Law "On ratification of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the French Republic".
"the draft Law is elaborated at the initiative of the Kazakh side for implementation of the "Path to Europe" state program. It is aimed at provision of Kazakhstan's bringing up to the level of strategic cooperation with leading European state", Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Omarov said.
He noted that France is the first country in Europe which signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement with Kazakhstan.
The Agreement signed on June 11, 2008 foresees strengthening partnership relations between the two countries in different spheres.
