Majilis Speaker Z. Karibzhanov to hold several meetings within Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum
ASTANA. May 13. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ On May 14 a delegation of the Majilis of the Kazakhstan Parliament headed by Speaker of the Chamber Ural Mukhamedzhanov will take part in the Trans-Asian Parliamentary forum on Eurasian Dimension of the OSCE.
As the press service of the Majilis informs, U. Mukhamedzhaniov is expected to meet with First Vice Chairman of the Afghan Parliament Mirwais Yasini and Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly João Soares.
On Saturday, May 15, U. Mukhamedzhanov will hold a meeting with Vice President of the OSCE PA, Deputy of the Finland Parliament Kimmo Kiljunen.
The program of the forum includes three sessions. The theme of the first session is Regional security. Afghanistan, fight with terrorism and drug trafficking, disarmament. The theme of the second session is Eurasia: emerging markets and growing threats. Economic development, trade, management of resources, labor migration, ecological problems. And the topic of the third session is Human dimension. Religious tolerance, political development, fight with human trafficking, gender equality.
Besides, a special session for discussing the situation in Kyrgyzstan will take place on Saturday. Special Envoy of the OSCE chairman-in-Office for Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Chairman of the Majilis Zhanybek Karibzhanov will make a report.
The forum which aims at further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation will be held on May 14-16 in Almaty within Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship. Delegations of national parliaments of the OSCE member states, partner countries of Mediterranean and Asian regions, experts of international organizations are expected to gather for the event.
On Sunday, May 16, the Speaker will meet with Secretary General of the TurkPA Ramil Hasanov.
