Majilis Speaker, Turkish Ambassador discussed coop

ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ Chairman of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament Ural Mukhamedzhanov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Kazakhstan Attila Gunay to discuss cooperation issues between the two states, Kazinform correspondent reports.
In the course of the meeting U. Mukhamedzhanov noted active development of the Kazakh-Turkish inter-parliamentary ties.
In turn, A. Gunay added that ?dynamics of development of the Kazakh-Turkish relationships, commonality of historical and cultural roots of the two nations allow to say that Kazakhstan and Turkey have established strong partnership relations?.
Turkey is an important trade-economic partner of Kazakhstan. According to the Kazakh Statistics Agency, the goods turnover between the states in January-September in 2008 made USD 2 224 bln ( USD 1 522 bln of export and USD 702 mln of import). Kazakhstan exports oil, metals and other raw materials to Turkey and imports construction materials, chemical and textile products.
