Majilis ratifies Kazakh-Spanish Convention on mutual legal assistance

ASTANA. September 19. KAZINFORM A draft law "On ratification of the Convention between Kazakhstan and Spain on mutual assistance in criminal matters" was approved by the Majilis.
In accordance with the Convention, the sides render legal assistance in prevention, investigation of crimes, criminal prosecution, and other assistance within the criminal process.
Also, assistance is provided in respect of criminal offenses relating to taxes, customs duties, exchange control and other financial matters.
The Convention does not apply to the detention of persons for the issue or request for extradition, enforcement of court decisions in criminal cases, including the transfer of sentenced persons, direct assistance to individuals or third states.
