Majilis ratified international conventions on nuclear security issues

The House discussed the draft laws "On ratification of the Convention on Nuclear Safety"; "On ratification of the Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident"; "On ratification of the Convention on Assistance in the Case of Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency"; "On ratification of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management".

"The ratification of the conventions is a necessary condition for signing a range of agreements on cooperation in the nuclear energy field with the governments of France, Canada, Japan, China and others", Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Asset Magauov said.

Upon the discussion the draft laws were approved.
