Majilis ratified Agr’t between Kazakhstan and CA states on status of International Fund for Saving Aral Sea

ASTANA. September 29. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The draft Law 'On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on status of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and its organization' was approved at the plenary sitting of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

'The bill was developed for increasing the effectiveness of the work of the Fund and gaining the status of an international organization with all the privileges for successful accomplishment of the tasks set by the Heads of State of Central Asia. It was developed at the Summit in Almaty on April 28, 2009', Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Rapil Zhoshybayev said representing the bill.

The Agreement was approved by the Heads of State of Central Asia on April 9 in 1999 in Ashkhabad.
