Majilis approves ratification of Kazakh-Russian agrt on establishing trade representations
ASTANA. June 27. KAZINFORM Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament approved a draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and Government of the Russian Federation on mutual establishment of trade representations" at its Wednesday plenary sitting.
Introducing the bill Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintayev said that the ratification of the agreement would give employees of the trade mission of Kazakhstan to Russia diplomatic immunities and privileges. This will raise the status of employees and effectiveness of negotiating within the framework of the CIS, Customs Union and Single Economic Space, improve the protection of the interests of Kazakh business in the Russian Federation. The agreement was signed in Moscow on October 22, 1992.
B. Sagintayev noted that the purpose of the bill is to create a legal framework for opening trade mission offices of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation. At present, the office of the Russian trade mission operates in Almaty.
The first office of Kazakhstan's trade mission to Russia on the proposal of the Russian side will be opened in Kazan.
