Majilis approves amendments to legislation against illegal proceeds laundering
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today at the plenary session of the Majilis deputies have approved in the second reading the draft law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning counteraction to legalization (laundering) of proceeds of crime and terrorist financing".
As noted by the Majilis Committee on Finance and Budget, the bill includes provisions to bring legislation on counteraction to legalization (laundering) of proceeds of crime and terrorist financing in accordance with international standards. According to international standards, Kazakhstan needs to embrace a system of financial monitoring of all persons, representing financial services. In this regard, the list was added with three new monitoring subjects including accounting organizations, microfinance institutions, operators of electronic money.
