Majilis approved draft Law “On ratification of UN Convention on Road Traffic”

Kazakh Vice Minister of Internal Affairs Amantai Kurenbekov reported that the 64 states joined the Convention signed in November 1968 in Vienna.

"Kazakhstan joined the Convention on April 4, 1994. but in regard to the socio-economic situation in the republic, lack of corresponding legislative base, the issue of its ratification was not discussed. The necessity of the Convention ratification is conditioned by increasing transport and transit potential of Kazakhstan", the Minister said.

According to him, the Convention will create conditions for uniting the national transport system with the European and world transport systems.
