Main works on “West Europe – West China” project to be started in 2010-2011

KAZINFORM /Samal Yendibayeva/ Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kusainov has held a session on the issues of realization of "West Europe - West China" transport corridor and the Road Map with heads of local departments of the Ministry today within his working visit to Aktobe region.
The Minister said that the Head of the State made a political decision on the construction of "West Europe - West China" project in December 2005. "Today we begin its realization; the main works will be started in 2010-2011", he said.
"Total length of the road on the territories of Kazakhstan, Russia, China, including St. Petersburg is 8 500 km. the Kazakhstani part is 2 787 km of the international road", the Minister said.
