Kazakh seismologists recorded a 5.1-magnitude earthquake in China on Thursday, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the Kazakhstan National Data Center of the Institute of Geophysical Research at the National Nuclear Center of Kazakhstan, the earthquake was recorded on August 20, 2026, at 2:49 p.m. Astana time (9:49 a.m. GMT) in China.
The epicenter was located at 37.88°N, 95.00°E, with a magnitude of 5.1 (mb) and an energy class of 12.7.
Earlier, it was reported that an earthquake occurred in Kyrgyzstan.
