Magnetic braids of the sun

LONDON. January 25. KAZINFORM Nasa images of the sun's outer atmosphere, the highest resolution pictures ever achieved.

The agency launched the High Resolution Coronal Imager, or Hi-C, on 11 July 2012 from White Sands missile range in New Mexico. Hi-C's image sequences show the twisting up or braiding of the magnetic field that is threaded through the sun's outer atmosphere.
