M5.3 quake hits near south coast of Myanmar

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted near the south coast of Myanmar at 02:05:25 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said, Xinhua reported.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 16.56 degrees north latitude and 96.40 degrees east longitude.
Strong tremors were felt in Myanmar's Yangon on Monday morning.
