M. Turmagambetov elected Chairman of 20th session of UN Commission on Sustainable Development
ASTANA. May 16. KAZINFORM Vice Minister of Environmental Protection Mazhit Turmagambetov was elected the Chairman of the 20th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development. This decision was made at the 19th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development which took place in New York, the press service of the Minitsry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan informs.
In accordance with the rotation schedule, the Asian group proposed the candidature of Vice Minister of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan Mazhit Turmagambetov for chairing the 20th session and it was unanimously supported. The opening of the 20th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development was held on May 13.
The purpose of the event is practices exchange in order to introduce stable production and consumption models as well as transport systems and use of safe technologies.
