Lukashenko suggests Belarus' larger involvement in Kazakhstan industrialization
MINSK. April 26. KAZINFORM The participation of Belarus in Kazakhstan's industrialization should be expanded. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Kazakhstan Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov on 25 April.
"I think Belarusians should work harder in the industrialization of the Kazakh economy. It is profitable for us," stressed the Belarusian head of state.
Alexander Lukashenko remarked that Kazakhstan is also interested in such cooperation and had always promoted it. Apart from that, Belarusian goods boast a good price to quality ratio. "If you need something, we will immediately deliver it. For us Kazakhstan is not an alien country, it is a very promising and rich country now and in the future. Cooperation with Kazakhstan is beneficial for our state and the people," said the President.
Alexander Lukashenko remarked that Belarus seeks markets to sell merchandise far abroad. "But we sometimes forget that Belarus has enough markets nearby," he said. The head of state also pointed out that the economies of Belarus and Kazakhstan are mutually complementary.
In turn, Serik Akhmetov remarked that the existing bilateral trade of $1 billion is not the limit. "We have a huge potential and we should at least double it in the next few years," believes the Kazakhstan Prime Minister. He noted that it is mainly products of the production sector, agriculture, and processing industries that are traded. "This is why we have to set up joint ventures virtually in all the branches of the economy and should deliver the merchandise, including to markets of other countries," said Serik Akhmetov
