Little boy from Kazakhstan wins silver at Kyokusin Karate Open Championship in Baku

BAKU. December 18. KAZINFORM The 14th Kyokusin Karate Open Championship took place in Baku, Azerbaijan on December 16-17.
The event brought together more than 300 best practitioners of the Azerbaijani Kyokusin schools from across the country. Only holders of the 8th Kyu (Blue Belt) and higher were admitted to the championship.
Aizhas Abylkassymov from Kazakhstan clinched silver at the championship in Boys' -30 kg category. The 10-year-old is the son of Kazakhstani diplomat posted in Baku and trainee of the Kazakhstan Karate Federation.
It is believed that Kyokusin karatekas from Kazakhstan will be invited to the first European Kyokusin Championship in Azerbaijan in May 2014.
