Life rescuers evacuated 55 people and 20 cars from snow banks in the capital
ASTANA. January 21. KAZINFORM - Over a night on January 20 and 21 by efforts of life savers in the capital 55 people, including 3 children, and 20 cars were evacuated from snow banks, astana.kz informs.
"Overall 55 people, including 3 children, and 20 cars were evacuated from snow banks on January 20-21, 2014, by efforts of the garrison of the Department of emergency situations of Astana city, and assistance was provided for Akmola province DES to evacuate 23 people and 11 vehicles", it is reported in the message.
Along Astrakhan highway 10 passenger cars, 5 freight long vehicles KAMAZ, 2 GAZelles, 1 DAEWO bus, 1 UAZ, 1 ZIL and 32 people were in snow banks. At 01.46, 3 vehicles and 12 people from the personnel of the metropolitan Department of ES subdivision went to evacuate them in spite of adverse weather conditions, poor visibility and strong wind gusts. The cars arrived in the city only at 05.00 in the morning accompanies by the column of Astana city DES.
Works on people evacuation from snow banks were also performed by the central regional aeromobile operational rescue team. 7 people were evacuated along the direction Astana-Kostanay, and 16 people along the direction Astana-Korgaldzhino.
In addition, along Astana-Kostanay highway, in Semyonovka settlement, near the highway bridge there was a jam of about 30 stuck cars, both passenger and freight ones. In accordance with the Plan of interaction in winter, 12 people and 2 units were director to this place, Akmola province DES subdivisions were already working there.
