Lianyungang-Astana train launched

The deputy governor of the province and the secretary of the party committee of Lianyungang city and other officials took part in the ceremony as well.

"The joint Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the seaport of Lianyungang city was built on the initiative of President of Kazakhstan. The work of the transport and logistics terminal is aimed at increasing the export and import and transit potential of Kazakhstan by rail providing access to the countries of the Asian and Pacific region and South Asian countries and helping in development of trade relations in the region. It is also supposed to create an opportunity to develop transit from those countries to Central Asia, the Persian Gulf countries, Russia, Caucasian region and Europe through Kazakhstan," the press service of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC informs.

This project is an example of implementation of new policy of Kazakhstan - "Nurly Zhol", which was initiated by President N. Nazarbayev.

During the working meetings of the delegation of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Company with the officials of the province and Lianyungang city, the sides noted high dynamics of development of the Kazakh-Chinese logistics terminal. Since its launch on May 19, 2014, over 65 thousand containers have been processed so far.
