Legislation on banks of second level to be amended - Majilis Speaker
ASTANA. December 25. KAZINFORM - Today at the plenary session of the Majilis chaired by the Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin amendments to the law on the reorganization of second tier banks (STB) have been approved, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning reports.
The bill is aimed at improving the legislation on reorganization of STB, including banks, which have indergone restructuring, said the head of the Ministry.
The bill provides amendments for:
- "On Banks and Banking Activity" Law to remove the restriction on the acquisition of shares in other banks during the reorganization in the form of connection and optimize the need to obtain the status of a bank holding company or a major participant of the bank;
- "On Joint Stock Companies" Law and "On Banks and Banking Activity" Law the requirement for addressed informing of creditors, depositors, customers, correspondents and borrowers about reorganization in the form, banks to have undergone procedure of restructuring to be carried out by notification in the media.
- "On Joint Stock Companies" Law allowing to assess banks who undergo restructuring at market evaluation methods.
