Latvia supports Kazakhstan's Green Bridge initiative

RIGA. December 10. KAZINFORM On 5-7 December, the "Transition to "Green" Economy through Introduction of Environmentally Friendly Technologies" Kazakhstan-Latvian academic and research conference was held in Riga, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The conference included official ceremony of signing the Charter of Green Bridge Partnership Program. The Charter was signed by Alexander Antonov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia.

Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov, Kazakhstan Ambassador to Latvia on behalf of the government of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to the government of Latvia for supporting the Green Bridge Partnership Program initiated by Kazakhstan. "We emphasize that today Latvia has became the second EU country which has signed this Charter. It is the sign of special friendly relations between our countries" the Ambassador said.

Kazakhstan delegation was led by Talgat Ahsambiyev, Vice Minister of the Environment and Water Resources, and included representatives of the central and local governments of Kazakhstan, as well as entrepreneurs, the large natural resource production companies and environment technologies related organizations.
