Largest judo centre opens in Kazakh capital
The KODOKAN SPIRIT modern judo centre covering 1,200 square meters opened its doors in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Distinguished coaches, international masters of sport, and participants of the Olympic games, and world and Asian championships will train kids and adults.
The centre is built by a businessman, president of the Astana Judo Centre, holder of the second-degree black belt, and winner of international tournaments in Germany, Austria and Slovakia Gaisa Zhumaliyev.
A couple of years ago he built another centre in Uralsk. Some 600 children are trained there so far, sports functionary Aidar Makhmetov said.
The solemn opening of the centre is to be dated to Nauryz Meiramy, on March 22. It is open to children aged four and above and adults.
He said judo exercises develop strength and tone muscles.
