Germany's largest listed specialty chemicals group LANXESS and the Kazakh mining group Kazphosphate have signed on February 8, 2012, a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Germany's Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Economics and Technology, Philipp Rösler, and Kazakhstan's Minister for Industry and New Technologies, Aset Issekeshev. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties have agreed to mutually explore the possibility of working together in the field of phosphorous-based downstream products in the future.

An exhibition by several German companies was organized in the Berlin Hotel Adlon on the occasion of the visit. LANXESS, in the presence of Board Member Dr. Werner Breuers, presented itself with an exhibition stand on the topic of "Green Mobility".
