Lady Gaga YouTube channel suspended over copyright violations
MOSCOW. July 15. KAZINFORM Flamboyant pop star Lady Gaga's official YouTube channel was temporarily suspended on Thursday over copyright violations related to an uploaded video, Penn Olson web site said. Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The channel was suspended after Japanese company Media Interactive Inc. submitted the copyright claim after a medley of Gaga's songs was broadcast on the Japanese SMAP X SMAP TV program.
The pop star's official channel, which has a user base of 500,000 subscribers with total of 15 billion views, is currently operating normally.
Google, which owns YouTube, said that the broadcasting service is designated so that any user can report copyright violations which may result in a channel being suspended.
"About 48 hours of video are being uploaded every second. No team of moderators, even the biggest, can control such an amount of information. That is why YouTube asks users to report video violating the principles of the community," a Google spokesman said. Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru
