Labor activity of foreign migrants to be legalized in Astana

“ As of today the cost of this patent amounts to two MCIs - 3704 KZT - and it is issued for natural persons for involving foreign citizens to housekeeping, and for estate repair, i.e. repair of apartments, private houses, cottages, etc. This novelty is subject to natural persons only; and the maximum number of 5 foreigners can be involved for one natural person. I’d like to note the housekeeping, which includes employment as a chef, nurses, gardeners, etc. The minimal validity is one month, the maximum is a year; upon completion of the year a foreigner must move back to his native country; and if he wants to work longer, after 6 calendar days he has a right to renew the patent”, - reported the head of the Migration police administration of Astana city DIA Gulvira Donenbayeva.

She also notes that patent issuance will be performed for residents of CIS countries which have visa-free regime with the Republic of Kazakhstan, according to astana.kz.

To get the patent foreign citizens should apply to the Migration police administration, where they have to write an application and pay the state duty in the amount of 2 MCIs (3704 KZT). In case of employment of labor migrant without permission Administrative Code provides for responsibility of natural persons. For the first time, the violators have to pay a penalty in the amount of 30 MCIs (55 560 KZT); for the repeated violation - 50 MCIs (92 600 KZT). As is known, over a year in Astana more than 8 00 foreign citizens were brought to responsibility for violation of the migration legislation.
