KZT 59.4 mln for struggle against AIDS in 2009 - Ministry of Helthcare

ASTANA. December 1. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ KZT 59.4 mln were allotted from the national budget for struggle against AIDS in 2009, Aitmagambet Zholsharinov, a representative of the Ministry of Healthcare has informed at a briefing today.
"The incidence of AIDS among Kazakhstan population makes 0.15% while in other countries the index reaches 0.8-1.0%. However, we continue the work on fighting with this disease", Zholsharinov said.
In ten months of 2009 there were registered 1,759 cases of HIV infection countrywide that is 234 less than in the same period in 2008.
